Privacy
The short version: nothing here is watching you.
This page covers two separate things — this website, and the Hozz app. Neither collects anything about you.
This website
The site is static files served by Cloudflare Pages. There is no analytics script, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no A/B testing and no cookie of any kind. Nothing on the page tries to work out who you are.
Typefaces are served from this domain rather than a font CDN, so loading the page does not tell a third party that you visited. The page loads no third-party resources at all.
Cloudflare handles the connection and keeps operational logs, the way any web host does. That is outside my control and covered by Cloudflare's own privacy policy. I do not receive per-visitor data from it and have not enabled any visitor analytics.
If you follow a link to GitHub, that is GitHub's site under GitHub's policies.
The Hozz app
Hozz is pre-alpha and not yet available to install. Its design is already fixed on these points, and they are the reason the project exists:
- Hozz has no account system, because there is no service to sign in to.
- Hozz has no server, database or relay of mine. Your data never passes through infrastructure I run.
- Hozz collects no analytics, telemetry or crash reports. Diagnostics stay on the device and redact sample values, credentials and destination secrets.
- Hozz never puts your Health data in iCloud. Health-derived files on the device are protected and excluded from device backups.
- Credentials for a destination you configure live in the Keychain on that device and are not synced. They are scoped to one destination and are never handed to a redirect that leaves the host you set up.
- Nothing is sent anywhere until you have configured a destination and confirmed it. There is no default destination, because a default would be a place I chose.
Once you export data to a destination, that copy is yours to look after. If you send it to a server, that server's operator — probably you — decides what happens to it next.
Checking any of this
Hozz is GPL-3.0 and developed in the open, so none of the above has to be taken on trust. The behaviour described here is meant to be proven by tests rather than by this page.Read the source.
